About

Unravel is a game about Yarny, a tiny character born from a single thread. Yarny embarks on a big adventure into the nature, inspired by the beauty of Northern Scandinavia. Without any spoken words, the character will have to solve puzzles and use tools to overcome tough challenges. All this, in order to find memories of his lost family. Only Yarny can be the bond that ties everything together in the end.

Storyline

Unravel is a gentle, atmospheric puzzle-platformer that tells its story almost entirely without words. It begins in the quiet home of an elderly woman, who gazes wistfully at old photographs before a small ball of red yarn tumbles loose. From that yarn springs Yarny, an apple-sized creature made entirely of thread, who awakens and gazes in wonder at the enormous world around him. Guided by the photographs displayed throughout the house, Yarny steps into the memories they hold, journeying through vivid landscapes that were once meaningful to the family who lived there. Using the yarn of his own body to swing, climb, and build bridges, the little creature traverses windswept coastlines, forests, and snowy hills, leaving an unspooling trail behind him. As Yarny gathers the fragments of these recollections, the game weaves a tender, bittersweet tale about love, family, and the memories that bind people together across the passing of years.
